Entry Requirements

Joining DePaul as an International Student

You will need to meet academic and English language requirements to study the Global Gateway Program at DePaul University. The requirements you will need to meet are different to direct entry to the University, providing you the opportunity to begin your studies now while improving your English language proficiency and academic skills.

We also offer a Pre-Sessional English program for students who do not yet meet the English language entry requirements in order to study the Global Gateway Program.

Global Gateway Program for Undergraduate Students

  • Academic Entry Requirements

    To study the Global Gateway Program at DePaul University, you will need to provide:

    • proof of successful completion of secondary education or equivalent
    • minimum 2.3 GPA (2.5 for Education majors).

    If you meet the academic requirements of the University and the higher English language requirements below (or speak English as a first language), you can apply directly to an undergraduate degree program.

    • IELTS: 6.5 overall
    • TOEFL iBT: 80
    • Duolingo: 110
    • GPA: 2.75

Global Gateway Program for Graduate Students

  • Academic Entry Requirements

    With your application, you will need to provide:

    • proof of successful completion of a US post-secondary education equivalent to a US 4-year Bachelor's degree with a minimum 2.3 GPA (Computing & Digital Media), or 2.75 GPA (Business; except 2.4 for MS Business Analytics).
