Through a combination of theoretical and applied learning approaches, our faculty works to ensure that students graduate from DePaul with the knowledge and skills needed to meet business needs worldwide. Our business professors are active in their respective fields as consultants, researchers, and entrepreneurs, and they bring their knowledge and real-world experience to the classroom each day.
These faculty members are dedicated to helping you learn about new, innovative business practices. Freya, from China, is completing her Master of Science in Finance degree at DePaul. She said, “Classes are relatively small. You can talk to a professor freely, and every professor is friendly, and you can ask what ever question you have. I think the study atmosphere is really good at DePaul.”
More than just taking notes during a lecture, DePaul business students are active and learn through hands-on techniques. Dr. Hui Lin, an associate professor at the School of Accountancy, shared that the faculty and degree programs have a lot to offer students, and she shared that DePaul’s location in Chicago gives students an advantage in the job market. Students go to class in the morning and then walk to their internships in the afternoon, continuing to develop their professional experience. Watch Dr. Lin's video below.
Of our undergraduate students in the Driehaus College of Business, 69% complete internships before they complete their degrees. Some of our undergraduate and graduate students who complete their business degrees have gone on to work at top companies like Google, KPMG, Ernst & Young, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, Discover Financial Services, McDonald’s Corporation, PepsiCo, and Nestlé, among others.
